PV Ramasashtry (IPS: 1989: UP), who served as the Special Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. His sudden repatriation has raised eyebrows in the corridors of power, sparking speculation about his future role in his home state. Notably, when the incumbent officiating Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh, Vijay Kumar (IPS: 1988: UP), retired on January 31, Ramasashtry’s name was rumored to be on the list of potential successors. However, Prashant Kumar (IPS:1990:UP) was ultimately appointed as the officiating DGP of the state.
Amidst swirling rumors, it seems the state government has a significant assignment in store for Ramasashtry. What exactly this assignment entails remains to be seen, but clarity is expected to emerge in the coming days.
