The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday (10.06.2025) promoted senior IPS officer SB Shiradkar (IPS:1993:UP) to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP). The promotion will be effective from June 11, 2025, or from the date he assumes charge of the post.
Shiradkar is currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG), Lucknow Zone.
His promotion follows the voluntary retirement of Ashish Gupta (IPS:1989:UP), who was serving as DG, Rules and Manual, and retired on June 10. Shiradkar has been elevated to fill the resulting vacancy at the DG level.
