It seems that 27 PCS officers from the 2008 and 2010 batches in Uttar Pradesh will have to wait longer for their promotion to the IAS cadre. The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting was held on April 1, during which the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) reportedly raised several objections. Sources indicate that DoPT will soon release its minutes, after which the Uttar Pradesh Appointment Department will provide clarifications on the objections related to PCS officers. Only then will the DPC be reconvened.
A total of 27 PCS posts are vacant in Uttar Pradesh for promotion. While it was expected that all PCS officers from the 2008 batch and some from the 2010 batch would be promoted, they will now have to wait until the process is completed.
