The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a reshuffling in the bureaucracy following the retirement of several IAS and PCS officers on September 30. The Appointment and Personnel Department on Tuesday assigned Principal Secretary P Guruprasad (IAS:1999:UP) the additional charge of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, after the retirement of Nitin Ramesh Gokarn (IAS:1990:UP). P Guruprasad currently heads the Revenue Department.
According to highly placed government sources, a large-scale transfer of officers is expected soon. With many officers having retired, their responsibilities will be reassigned to others in the coming days.
