After battling with life for five days, Surendra Kumar Das (IPS:2014:UP) passed away on Sunday afternoon at Kanpur’s Regency Hospital.
He had allegedly attempted suicide by consuming celphos on Wednesday morning at his official residence in the Cantt area of the city.
He was immediately rushed to Ursala Horseman hospital from where he was later shifted to Regency Hospital for treatment
The IPS’s condition had deteriorated on Saturday morning.
Das was transferred Kanpur in the month of August and was posted as a Superintendent of Police (East).
