Senior IPS officer Abhishek Dixit (IPS:2006:TN), who was surrounded by corruption allegations, has received significant relief. He was given a clean chit in the departmental inquiry, which was approved by the Governor. Dixit, a Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer, had been on deputation in Uttar Pradesh but has now returned to his parent cadre in Tamil Nadu.
While serving as SSP of Prayagraj, he faced serious allegations of corruption related to the transfer and posting of subordinate policemen. There were also complaints of non-compliance with instructions from senior police officers and laxity in work. Due to these allegations, he was suspended on September 8, 2020. After 1.5 years, he was reinstated.
