The Uttar Pradesh government is on look out for a senior IAS officer, preferably of the 1990 batch, to deploy him/her on the post of Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC). The post was rendered vacant after IAS officer Monika S Garg (IAS:1990:UP) retired on April 30. In a stop-gap arrangement, the charge will remain with the Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh (IAS:1988:UP) till the new APC is appointed.

As legendofficers.com had reported earlier, Deepak Kumar (IAS:1990:UP) tops the list of officers whose names are being discussed as possible contenders. He is currently holding responsibilities as Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Basic & Secondary Education. Apart from this, the names of Himanshu Kumar (IAS:1990:UP), Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development & Rural Engineering Service Department and Sudhir M Bobde (IAS:1990:UP), Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, are also doing the rounds. While Himanshu Kumar retires in October this year, Bobde will superannuate in September itself.
