The UP government has put 6 senior IAS & IPS officers in charge of three red zone districts of Agra, Meerut and Kanpur to give impetus to anti-COVID efforts. Each district will have one IAS and one IPS each, who will have command all COVID-19 related work. The appointments were made after the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, held a review meeting on Sunday with heads of 11 committees.
The CM has directed the officials to ensure that all the ventilators are functional, and the personnel are given training to operate them.
The command of COVID Care in Kanpur has been given to UP State Industrial Development Authority MD Anil Garg, and IG Deepak Ratan.
Agra has got Principal Secretary (Infrastructure) Alok Kumar, and IG Vijay Kumar.
The charge of Meerut has been given to Irrigation Department Principal Secretary T Venkatesh and IG Laxmi Singh.
