In a significant bureaucratic development, the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday (October 23, 2025) appointed senior IAS officer Archana Agrawal (IAS:1990:UP) as Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, and Chairperson, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).
Ms. Agrawal recently returned to her parent cadre on October 16, 2025, following her premature repatriation from central deputation, where she was serving as Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. She had been on central deputation since 2016.
Meanwhile, IAS officer Amit Kumar Gupta (IAS:2000:UP), who was holding the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Transport Department, and Chairman, UPSRTC, has been relieved of these responsibilities. He will continue as Principal Secretary, Stamps and Registration.
