Senior IRS officer Jasti Krishna Kishore, who was suspended by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been promoted by the Union Finance Ministry as the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax.

A few weeks ago, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) revoked Krishna Kishore’s suspension, and ordered the state government to repatriate him to his parent department Central Board of Direct Taxes.

Krishna Kishore, as an Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, had assessed the income of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Jagati Publications, and imposed a fine of 122.78 crore.

After Reddy’s YSR Congress came to power in May last year, he was suspended on allegations of irregularities in APEDB.

The IRS officer moved the CAT against his suspension. Acting in his favour, in February the CAT asked him to report to his parent department on February 25.
