Senior Bureaucrat and incumbent Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) U. P. S Madan (IAS:1983:MH) will be next Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed Madan’s appointment with PTI.
Madan will succeed incumbent chief secretary D K Jain, who will join the Lokpal panel.
Jain, who was due to retire in January this year, was given an extension for period of three months.
Earlier, Madan held important posts as Commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airports Development Authority.
He had also worked as the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra.
