Top Income Tax officers meet at Jaipur to discuss present and future

The purpose of this conference is to make the functioning of the department more effective by deliberating on its present and future issues and suggesting action plans.

The Income Tax Department is holding its two-day conference of Principal Chief Commissioners and Principal Directors General at Jaipur. Inaugurated by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Ravi Agrawal, the high-powered conclave began on Monday discussing various issues concerning administrative and functional aspects bothering the department.

According to the official statement, the basic purpose of holding this conference is to make the functioning of the department more effective by deliberating on its present and future issues and suggesting action plans.

On the first day, discussion revolved around the e-human resource management system, service matters, reservation policy, taxpayer services, the systems directorate, capacity building, infrastructure, and expenditure budget, among other issues.

The deliberations at the conference are expected to contribute to making the department more efficient, responsive, and aligned with future requirements.

CBDT members Pankaj Kumar Mishra, Sanjay Bahadur, Prasenjit Singh, G Aparna Rao, Pallavi Agarwal, and Sunil Kumar Singh, along with Rajasthan’s Principal Chief Commissioner Sumeet Kumar, attended the conference.

Besides, Principal Chief Commissioners, Principal Directors, Commissioners of Income Tax (Administration) and other senior officers from across the country also participated in the conference.

The conference will be concluded on Tuesday.
