The top brass of Madhya Pradesh’s health department has been thrown into a tizzy after 11 department officials, including 2 IAS officers tested positive for COVID-19. At least 50 officers, including several IAS officers from various departments, have gone into self-quarantine and are working from home.

All these officers have been part of government meetings held to combat the dreaded outbreak of coronavirus.

The abode of most of these officers- the Char Imli locality, has been gripped by fear as an IAS officer who has been tested positive, insists on being treated at home. The administration has pasted a ticker on her bungalow, advising people not to visit her.

While the number of positive cases in Bhopal has reached 40, the overall figure in the state has gone up to 193, with majority of cases in the Indore city.
