The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is likely to get new members by the next week. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is likely to issue an appointment order in this regard.
Reliable sources revealed that senior IRS officers Rashmi Saxena Sahni (IRS-IT:1984), Principal Director General, Administration and Tax Payers Services in Delhi, JB Mohapatra (IRS-IT:1985), Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Anuja Sarangi (IRS-IT:1985), Principal Director General Vigilance, will be the next three new board members. They are amongst the most senior officers in the income tax department.
Sources also told that Principal Director General Systems Anu J Singh (IRS-IT:1985) may surprise as the fourth member of CBDT.
Presently, the CBDT Board has three members headed by chairman Pramod Chandra Mody. The posts of member investigation, member legislation, member income tax and revenue, and member administration are vacant.
