Ruckus between the two neighbouring states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the inter cadre transfer of IAS officers continues. After relieving the four IAS officers under pressure from the Centre, the Telangana government is reported to have made up its mind to seek the repatriation of three of them from AP.

The four officers – Ronald Rose (IAS:2006:AP), Amrapali Kata (IAS:2010:AP), Vakati Karuna (IAS:2004:AP) and A Vani Prasad (IAS:1995:AP)–were repatriated to Andhra Pradesh by the Telangana government after the orders from the Centre last week on inter-cadre deputation. These officers had moved the Telangana High Court against their repatriation to AP but got no relief.

The Telangana government is said to be keen on bringing back Ronald Rose, Amrapali Kata, and Vakati Karuna. Rose and Karuna are secretary-level officers while Amprapali is junior to them.

It became evident after the Telangana government made full additional charge (FAC) arrangements for the posts vacated by these officers so that they could be brought back to Telangana on inter-cadre deputation and handed over the charge of the departments they were handling before repatriation to AP.

It should be noted here that the consent of both the states is a must on individual basis for the inter-state deputation. It is after this that the approval is to be sought from the DoPT. The entire process is likely to take a month.
