The Telangana government on Tuesday (17.09.2024) appointed retired IAS officer I Rani Kumudini (IAS:1988:TG) as the new State Election Commissioner (SEC) for three years. She succeeds C Parthasarathi (IAS:1998:TG), whose tenure ended on September 8.
I Rani Kumudini retired from service in July 2023 after serving in various capacities with both the State and Union governments. Previously, she served as the Special Chief Secretary of Labour department, Secretary of Social Welfare Residential Schools, Rangareddy District Collector, Managing Director of Housing Corporation, Commissioner of Labour and Horticulture departments in the state government. At the Union level, she worked as Joint Secretary of Agriculture department and Chief Executive of National Fisheries Development Board.
