Former Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) (Vigilance), Braj Kishore Ravi (IPS:1989:TN), officially joined the Congress on Thursday in New Delhi, in the presence of party MPs Akhilesh Prasad Singh and Naseer Hussain.

Ravi expressed his commitment to campaigning for the Congress in Bihar, his home state, and also expressed a willingness to participate in campaign efforts in Tamil Nadu. It’s worth noting that Ravi was scheduled to retire at the year-end but chose to retire three months earlier, on September 30.

Ravi comes from a family with strong Congress ties in Bihar. His father, Tul Mohan Ram, was not only a freedom fighter but also served as a three-term Lok Sabha member. Hailing from Saharsa district in Bihar, Ravi holds the distinction of being the second most senior DGP-ranking official from the Tamil Nadu cadre.
