The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday (29.06.2023) appointed senior IPS officer Shankar Jaiwal (IPS:1990:TN) as the Director General of Police/Head of Police Force of state. He is to succeed C Sylendra Babu who will retire from service on June 30. Presently, Jarwal is serving as Commissioner of Police, Chennai.
DGP Training, Sandeep Rai Rathore (IPS:1992:TN), has been appointed as new Commissioner of Chennai Police.
