Tamil Nadu: Four IPS officers promoted to DGP rank, two to ADGP rank

The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday (29.12.2024) promoted four IPS officers from the rank of Additional Director-General of Police (ADGP) to Director-General of Police (DGP). Additionally, two officers were elevated to the ADGP rank, and one ADGP-ranked officer was assigned a new posting.

They are;

1. Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal (IPS:1994:TN), ADGP, Armed Police, has been promoted to the rank of DGP and posted as Special DGP, Armed Police.
2. G Venkataraman (IPS:1994:TN), ADGP, Administration, has been promoted to the rank of DGP and posted as Special DGP, Administration.
3. Vinit Dev Wankhede (IPS:1994:TN), ADGP, Headquarters, has been promoted to the rank of DGP and posted as Special DGP, Headquarters.
4. Sanjay Mathur (IPS:1994:TN), ADGP, Joint Director (CCTNS), National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi, has been promoted as DGP without prejudice to his deputation with the Government of India.
5. D Kalpana Nayak (IPS:1998:TN), ADGP/Member, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Idol Wing CID.
6. Dr. R Dhinakaran (IPS:1998:TN), IGP, Idol Wing CID, has been promoted to the rank of ADGP and posted as ADGP, Operations, Chennai.
7. Sonal V Mishra (IPS:2000:TN), IGP/IG (Provisioning), Directorate General, CRPF, New Delhi, has been promoted as ADGP without prejudice to his deputation with the Government of India.
