The Tamil Nadu government on Monday (18.10.2021) promoted 5 IPS officers and transferred 6 more in the State.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :
- Shankar Jiwal (IPS:1990:TN) has been promoted as Director General of Police and posted as Director General of Police/Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, Chennai in a newly created post, by upgrading the post of ADGP/CoP, Chennai
- A K Viswanathan (IPS:1990:TN) has been promoted as Director General of Police and posted as Director General of Police/Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation, Chennai, in a newly created post, by upgrading the post of ADGP/CMD, TNPHC, Chennai.
- Abhash Kumar (IPS:1990:TN) has been promoted as Director General of Police and posted as Director General of Police/Civil Supplies CID, Chennai, in a newly created post, by upgrading the post of ADGP, CS CID, Chennai.
- T V Ravichandran (IPS:1990:TN) has been promoted as Director General of Police without prejudice to his deputation with the Government of India (Proforma Promotion).
- Seema Agrawal (IPS:1990:TN) has been promoted as Director General of Police and posted as DGP/Chairman, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, Chennai.
- K Shankar (IPS:1996:TN) has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police Administration, Chennai.
- G Venkataraman (IPS:1994:TN) has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters, Chennai.
- Amaraesh Pujari (IPS:1991:TN) has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, Chennai.
- Vinit Dev Wankhede (IPS:1994:TN) will hold full additional charge of the post of Additional Director General of Police, Technical Service, Chennai.
- Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal (IPS:1994:TN) will hold additional charge of the post of Additional Director General of Police, Enforcement, Chennai.
- Kapil Kumar C Saratkar (IPS:2002:TN) has been appointed as IG Police, Enforcement, Chennai.
