‘Taboo worse than virus’

A senior IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre undergoing preventive quarantine is forced to live in the servant quarter of his official residence. He gets to see his children only from a distance, and has to wash his own dishes.

It is not the isolation per se, but the taboo associated with COVID 19 that upsets him most. He is only under preventive quarantine since he came in indirect contact with a COVID positive case. But the IPS officer says that some of his friends and relatives are “making an issue as if it’s the end of the world”.
