The Supreme Court collegium, headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, has put forth recommendations to the Centre for the transfer of three high court judges who have made requests for the same.

During a meeting on February 13, the collegium, consisting of Justices Sanjiv Khanna, B.R. Gavai, Surya Kant, and Aniruddha Bose, approved the request of Calcutta High Court judge Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya for a transfer to another high court due to personal reasons. The Collegium, in the interest of the better administration of justice, resolved to recommend the transfer of Ms. Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya to the High Court for the State of Telangana.

Furthermore, the collegium accepted the request of Justice Anu Sivaraman, who sought a transfer from the State of Kerala. The recommendation was made in the interest of the better administration of justice, and Ms. Justice Anu Sivaraman is proposed to be transferred to the Karnataka High Court.

In another decision, the collegium acknowledged a communication dated February 12, 2024, from Justice Sujoy Paul, who requested a transfer due to his son practicing in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh. In the interest of the better administration of justice, the collegium resolved to recommend the transfer of Mr. Justice Sujoy Paul to the High Court for the State of Telangana.
