The central deputation tenure of Sunil Bhagwat Chaudhari (ICAS:2008) as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) has been extended for one year.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (10.05.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Economic Affairs to extend Mr Chaudhari ’s deputation tenure for a one year beyond June 4, 2025, and upto June 4, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mr. Chaudhari was initially appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department in June 2020 for a five-year tenure. He was elevated to the post of Director in June 2022 within the same department. With his original tenure set to conclude on June 4, 2025, this extension ensures continuity in his current role.
