Bhubaneswar, May 23, 2025: The Odisha Government on Thursday (22.05.2025) accepted the resignation of Abhay (Retd.IPS:1986:OR) from the post of Chairman, Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC). A notification from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department stated that the resignation, submitted on May 19, has been accepted with immediate effect.
Abhay, a former DGP, was appointed as OSSC Chairman in April 2022 for a five-year term.
Following his exit, retired IAS officer and current OSSC member Sudhakar Burgi (Retd.IAS:2011:OR) has been appointed as the new Chairman. He will hold this role in addition to his existing duties until further orders.
Additionally, the state government has inducted Udaya Narayan Das, Director of Census Operations, and Shruti Das, former English professor at Berhampur University, as new members of the OSSC.
