The central deputation tenure of Sheetal Verma (IAS:2007:UP) as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Uttar Pradesh, has been extended up to August 5, 2026.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (January 1, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposal to extend her deputation for an overall tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Sheetal Verma has been serving in the post since August 2021, and her earlier tenure was scheduled to end on December 31, 2025.
