In a significant reshuffle, the Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed senior IPS officer Sharad Agarwal (IPS:1997:AGMUT) as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Mizoram. He takes over from Anil Shukla (IPS:1995:AGMUT), who has been serving as the state’s police chief.
Agarwal is currently posted in Delhi Police as the Special Commissioner of the Economic Offences Wing, where he has been handling major financial crime investigations.
The outgoing DGP, Anil Shukla, will return to Delhi. His next assignment is yet to be announced.
