The Karnataka government has asked a senior IAS officer to inquire into the cases of coronavirus in the Nanjanagudu’s Jubilant pharma company in Mysuru.
The company is the main reason for Mysuru emerging as a hotspot of coronavirus.
The order issued by the Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar (IAS:1983:TN), has asked senior IAS Harsh Gupta (IAS:1997:KN) to conduct the inquiry. Gupta is currently the nodal officer, overseeing anti- Covid measures in Mysuru.
At 88, Mysuru has second highest number of COVID-19 cases so far, behind only Bengaluru which leads with 126.
Seventy three of these cases in Mysuru are linked to Nanjanagudu’s Jubilant pharma company’s factory.
