Secretary-Level Reshuffle: ACC reassigns two Secretaries, elevates six to Spl Secretary rank

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday late evening effected a secretary-level reshuffle. Two IAS officers have been given new posting as Secretary while six IAS officers belonging to the 1993 batch were upgraded (in-situ) as Special Secretary in the rank and pay Secretary to the Govt of India.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Devesh Chaturvedi (IAS:1989:UP) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. He replaces Manoj Ahuja (IAS:1990:OD) who recently repatriated to parent cadre and appointed as Chief Secretary, Govt of Odisha.
2. Sandeep Poundrik (IAS:1993:BH) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Steel. He replaces Nagendra Nath Sinha (IAS:1987:JH) on his retirement on July 31, 2024.

The list of IAS officers (1993 batch) upgraded (in-situ) as Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary, Govt of India goes as follows:

1. Anurag Agarwal (IAS:1990:PB) has been appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs.
2. Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS:1992:OD) has been appointed as Special Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
3. Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS:1993:AGMUT) has been appointed as Special Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office.
4. Tanmay Kumar (IAS:1993:RJ) has been appointed as Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
5. Amit Agrawal (IAS:1993:CG) is now appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
6. Deepti Gaur Mukerjee (IAS:1993:MP) is now Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by restoring the post to Secretary level.
