The Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday recommended the elevation of four Advocates for appointment as Judges of the High Courts of Bombay, Karnataka, and Madras. Overruling the Union Department of Justice’s objection, the Collegium said in its resolution that their elevation would increase the representation of women, marginalised communities, and tax experts in constitutional courts.
The Collegium of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Krishan Kaul and Sanjiv Khanna approved the names of the advocates to be appointed as Judges in High Courts.
They are;
- Majusha Ajay Deshpande as a Judge of Bombay HC;
- N Senthilkumar as a Judge of Madras HC
- G Arun Murugan as Judge of Madras HC
- KV Aravind as a Judge of Karnataka HC
