SC Collegium recommends transfer of 9 HC Judges

During a meeting held on August 3, the Supreme Court Collegium, presided over by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, made recommendations for the transfer of nine judges from various High Courts. This disclosure was facilitated by the publication of these recommendations on the official website of the Supreme Court Collegium.

They are;

  1. Justice Vivek Kumar Singh of Allahabad High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Madras High Court.
  2. Justice Alpesh Y Kogje of Gujarat High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Allahabad High Court.
  3. Justice Gita Gopi of Gujarat High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Madras High Court
  4. Justice Hemant M Prachchhak of Gujarat High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Patna High Court
  5. Justice Samir J Dave of Gujarat High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Rajasthan High Court
  6. Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan of Punjab and Haryana High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Allahabad High Court.
  7. Justice Avneesh Jhingan of Punjab and Haryana High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Gujarat High Court.
  8. Justice Raj Mohan Singh of Punjab and Haryana High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
  9. Justice Arun Monga of Punjab and Haryana High Court is proposed to be transferred to the Rajasthan High Court.

The President of India has to approve the recommendations of Supreme Court collegium, after consultation with the Union Ministry.
