SC collegium recommends new Chief Justices for 13 High Courts

Thirteen high courts in the country will get new Chief Justices (CJs) as the Supreme Court Collegium headed by CJI N V Ramana has recommended to the Centre eight names for elevation and transfer of five sitting CJs to other high courts.

They are ;

1. Justice Rajesh Bindal, presently the Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court, has been recommended as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court.
2. Justice Ranjit V. More, presently a Judge of the Meghalaya High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court.
3. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, presently serving as the Acting Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
4. Justice Prakash Srivastava, presently serving as a Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
5. Justice R.V. Malimath, presently serving as the Acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
6. Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. He is presently serving as Senior Judge at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.
7. Justice Aravind Kumar has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court. Presently, he is serving as Judge of the Karnataka High Court.
8. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Presently, he is serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
9. Justice Akil Kureshi, presently serving as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, has been recommended as Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.
10. Justice Indrajit Mahanty has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court. Presently, he is serving as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.
11. Justice Mohammad Rafiq has been recommended as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. Presently, he is serving as the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.
12. Justice Biswanath Somadder has been recommended as the Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court. Presently, he is serving as the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court)
13. Justice A.K. Goswami has been recommended as the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court. Presently, he is serving as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
