The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved an extension of SBI Chairman Dinesh Kumar Khara‘s tenure until August 28, 2024. Khara, who is currently 62 years old, was scheduled to complete his three-year term as Chairman on October 6. However, official confirmation of the extension is expected soon, as per sources.
Dinesh Kumar Khara assumed the role of Chairman of India’s largest commercial bank on October 7, 2020, initially appointed for a three-year term. The prevailing regulations allow an individual to serve as the SBI Chairman until the age of 63.
