Sanjay Swarup, who presently serves as the Director (IM&O) at Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), has been selected as the incoming Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of CONCOR. This transition will see him taking over from the current CMD, V Kalyana Rama, who is scheduled to step down from his role on September 30. The decision to appoint Mr. Swarup is a result of the recommendation made by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on June 7, following their evaluation of 8 candidates for the CMD position.
An official order, dated August 30, 2023, released by the Railway Board, confirms that the competent authority has endorsed Mr. Swarup’s appointment. His assumption of the new role is slated for October 1, 2023, and his tenure will continue until either July 31, 2026 (his superannuation date), or until further instructions are issued, depending on whichever comes earlier.
