The deputation tenure of Sanjay Mathur (IPS:1994:TN) as Joint Director in the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has been extended for one more year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (August 28, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal to extend his tenure beyond August 15, 2025, completing nine years in total, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mathur was appointed as Joint Director (IG level) in NCRB on July 5, 2017 for a period of five years and assumed charge on August 15, 2017. Before the completion of his initial tenure in August 2022, he was granted a two-year extension in April 2022. Later, in July 2024, he was given another one-year extension till August 15, 2025. The latest approval marks his third extension.
