Saleem Ahmad has assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) with effect from December 23, 2025. The public sector undertaking informed stock exchanges about the development through a regulatory filing on Tuesday.
Ahmad has replaced Sukhmal Chand Jain (IRSE), Additional Member (AM/L&A), Railway Board, who was holding the additional charge of the post since September 1, 2025, following the superannuation of Pradeep Gaur on August 31, 2025.
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had, on October 4, 2025, recommended Saleem Ahmad for appointment as CMD, RVNL, after interviewing 10 candidates. At the time of selection, Ahmad was serving as Director (Projects) at NBCC (India) Limited. The PESB had advertised the vacancy on April 22, 2025.
