There is good news for the sacked IAS probationer, Pooja Khedkar. She has got extension of interim protection from arrest. The Delhi High Court extended on Thursday her interim protection from arrest. Justice Chandra Dhari Singh’s Bench ordered an extension of the benefit of interim relief granted earlier to Puja Khedkar shielding her from arrest. Now the court will hear the case on October 4.
Just a week ago, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had moved the High Court seeking perjury proceedings to be initiated against her for lying to the court. The HC is already hearing this case.
Pooja was dismissed from the IAS by the central government, on September 7 this month, after the cancellation of her candidature by the UPSC. She was found guilty of hiding her real identity to appear for the examination beyond the maximum number of attempts allowed. Not only this, she went on to change the names of her parents as well in order to corroborate her fraudulently changed identity. She also allegedly submitted false certificates to avail the quota facilities to clear her Civil Services Examination in 2022.
