Ashok Ranjan Basu, a retired IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as Chairman of Research Committee No. 48 on Administrative Culture of International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Montreal, Canada.

Ashok Ranjan Basu, a retired IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as Chairman of Research Committee No. 48 on Administrative Culture of International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Montreal, Canada. Basu will hold this post until 2028.

The committee, which focuses on research in administrative systems, includes members from around the world.

Basu had served as a member of the Central Administrative Tribunal. After his retirement, he became an author, published books on various aspects of administration and law.

One of his books, ‘Transparency, Accountability, Open Government, and e-Governance’, originally published in English, has been translated into six European languages: German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

He is also a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland (FRAS), London. Additionally, he has been the Director of the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration, Fair Lawns, Shimla.
