Reshuffle at JS level: 22 Officers assigned new responsibilities

The Modi government on Friday (15.03.2024) implemented a significant bureaucratic reshuffle at the Joint Secretary level. A total of 22 officers from various batches and services have been entrusted with new responsibilities.

The Modi government on Friday (15.03.2024) implemented a significant bureaucratic reshuffle at the Joint Secretary level. A total of 22 officers from various batches and services have been entrusted with new responsibilities.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Deepankar Aron (IRS-IT:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary of the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals for a tenure of five years, succeeding Susanta Kumar Purohit (IRSEE:1996).
  2. Harish Kumar Vashisth (IRS-C&IT:2001) has been appointed as Joint DG, Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation for five years, replacing Puja Singh Mandol (IA&AS:1995).
  3. Siddharth Mahajan (IAS:2003:RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce for an initial tenure of three years until 07.11.2024, extendable for a cumulative tenure of seven years until 07.11.2028, subject to Cadre Clearance availability. He will replace Krishan Kumar (IAS:2002:OD).
  4. Anand Madhukar (IRPS:1997) has been appointed as Additional DG, Archaeological Survey of India under the Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years, succeeding Rakesh Singh Lal (IOFS:1988).
  5. Swati Meena Naik (IAS:2007:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation for a five-year term until 02.08.2028, replacing Samir Kumar (IES:1995).
  6. Ravi Shankar (IAS:2007:GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for a total tenure of five years until 31.07.2028. He replaces Ms. Palka Sahni (IAS:2004:BH).
  7. Gulzar N (IAS:2009:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution for a five-year term, succeeding Richa Sharma (IAS:1994:CG).
  8. Manoj Kumar Jain (IRAS:2000) has been appointed as Executive Director (Engineering/IT), FCI Headquarters under the Department of Food & Public Distribution for five years, replacing S Abbasi (IAS:1990:AM).
  9. Pushpendra Rajput (IAS:1999:HP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a combined tenure of seven years until 29.11.2025, replacing Lav Agarwal (IAS:1996:AP).
  10. Saurabh Jain (IAS:2002:KL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for five years, succeeding Vishal Chauhan (IAS:1998:SK).
  11. Mihir Kumar (IDAS:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for a five-year term, replacing C G Rajini Kaanthan (IAS:2004:HY).
  12. Parthasarathi Gurrala (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs until his superannuation on 31.12.2028, succeeding Sanjeev Sehgal (IRSEE:1997).
  13. Abhijit Sinha (IAS:2000:NL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for five years, replacing Sanjeev K Jindal (CSS).
  14. Vipul Aggarwal (IPS:2001:GJ) has been appointed as Principal Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for an overall tenure of five years until 15.03.2025, succeeding Rajeev Kumar Tiwari (IFoS:1993:JK).
  15. Jagannath Srinivasan (IPoS:2002) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Justice for five years, replacing Rajinder Kumar Kashyap (IPoS:1989).
  16. Alok Mishra (IInfoS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment for five years, succeeding Vibha Bhalla (IRS-IT:1991).
  17. Bhaskar Choradia (IRAS:2000) has been appointed as Additional CPFC (Hqrs), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) for a period of five years, replacing Veena Tamta Bhatia (IOFS:1988).
  18. Sanjay Pandey (ICAS:1994) has been appointed as FA & CAO, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) until his superannuation on 31.08.2025.
  19. Kunal Satyarthi (IFoS:1997:HP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Land Resources for a cumulative tenure of seven years until 04.02.2026, replacing Sonmoni Borah (IAS:1999:CG).
  20. Mahabir Prasad (IRAS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & FA in the Ministry of Power for a tenure of five years, succeeding Ashish Upadhyay (IAS:1989:MP).
  21. Ajeet Kumar Srivastava (IRAS:1999) has been appointed as Commissioner, National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) for five years, replacing Asit Gopal (IFoS:1990:MP).
  22. Sarwesh Kumar Arya (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development for five years, succeeding Tripti Gurha (IRTS:1993).
