The Modi government on Monday (15.05.2023) appointed senior IAS officers Ravneet Kaur (IAS:1988:PB) as the Chairperson of Competition Commission of India (CCI). Kaur has been appointed for a period of five years or till she reaches the age of 65.
She is currently serving in the cadre state of Punjab as Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner at the Department of Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management in Chandigarh, Punjab.
The top post at CCI fell vacant after Ashok Kumar Gupta demitted the chairman’s office on 25 October 2022, having completed his four-year term. Later the government gave member Sangeeta Verma the charge of acting chairperson.
