The central deputation tenure of Rakesh Mittal (IDES:1995) as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence has been extended two years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (10.05.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Defence to extend Mr. Mittal’s tenure for a further period of two years beyond July 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Rakesh Mittal has been serving in the Department of Defence in this capacity since July 2020.
