IPS officer Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya (IPS:2013:RJ) was appointed as the chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Monday. Governor Kalraj Mishra issued an order for the appointment of IPS officer Shrotriya as the RPSC chairman, a release from the Raj Bhawan said. At present, he is serving as the Jaipur IG.
The office of RPSC chairman has been held by acting chairmen for the past two months. After Bhupendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1986:RJ) retired from the post in December, the government appointed Shiv Singh Rathore – a RPSC member as acting chairman. Following the end of Rathore’s term on January 30, Jaswant Singh Rathi was appointed as acting chairman. Former chairman Bhupendra Yadav was also an IPS officer. At the time of his appointment, he was the Director General of the Rajasthan police.
Sanjay Shrotriya is a promoted IPS from 2013 batch. He joined the police as an RPS officer. Shrotriya is due to retire in August 2022.
