On the eve of the New Year, the Rajasthan government carried out a major round of promotions, elevating 22 IAS officers, 45 IPS officers, and 29 IFS officers to higher grades. These promotions will be effective from January 1, 2025.
IAS Promotions:
Two IAS officers of the 1995 batch—Praveen Gupta and Bhaskar Atmaram Sawant—were promoted to the Above Super Time Scale (Additional Chief Secretary Rank).
From the 2009 batch, Kumar Pal Gautam and Vishram Meena moved up to the Super Time Scale (Commissioner/Secretary Rank).
Seven IAS officers of the 2012 batch, including Rukmani Riyar and Om Prakash Kasera, were elevated to the Selection Grade (Secretary Rank).
Among the 2016 batch, officers like Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir-Ul-Shafi Khan received promotion to the Junior Administrative Grade (Secretary Rank), along with seven others.
IPS Promotions:
In the IPS cadre, three officers of the 2000 batch, including Lata Manoj Kumar, were promoted to ADGP Rank.
Six officers of the 2007 batch were promoted to the IGP Rank, while ten officers from the 2011 batch, including Anand Sharma and Gaurav Yadav, were elevated to the DIGP Rank.
Notably, Hemant Kalal (IPS:2021:RJ) has been promoted to the Senior Time Scale (Level 11 in Pay Matrix) along with his batchmates Nischay Prasad M, Prashant Kiran, and others. The promotion of Hemant Kalal is being seen as a recognition of his steady career growth in the Rajasthan cadre.
IFS Promotions:
In the Indian Forest Service, one officer of the 2000 batch, T J Kavitha, was promoted as Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests.
Seven officers of the 2011 batch were elevated to the Conservator of Forests Rank, while 12 officers from the 2012 batch moved to the Selection Grade.
Six officers from the 2016 batch and three from the 2021 batch, including Rahul Jhajhadia, were also promoted.
Significance:
This large-scale round of promotions, coming at the start of 2025, signals the state government’s focus on strengthening the administrative, police, and forest services. Officers like Hemant Kalal in the IPS, Tina Dabi in the IAS, and T J Kavitha in the IFS are among those who have gained career milestones through this order.
