The Rajasthan government has extended the tenure of current director general of police (DGP) Bhupendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1986:RJ) for two years. He had been appointed as DGP in July and was to retire from service on December 31, but the state government extended his appointment as DGP till June 30, 2021. An order in this regard was issued by the department of personnel on Tuesday.
The order said, the decision was taken in pursuance to the Supreme Court order in Prakash Singh Vs Union of India and others and as per recommendation of the empowered Committee Constituted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for this purpose.
