New Delhi, May 22, 2025: The central deputation tenure of Rakesh Kumar Pandey (IDAS:2003) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been extended by one year.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposal to extend his tenure beyond May 13, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mr. Pandey was initially appointed as Director in the MHA on May 6, 2018, and joined on May 13. Before completing his five-year tenure in 2023, he was granted a two-year extension until May 2025. Following his empanelment for Joint Secretary-level posts in September 2024, he was officially designated Joint Secretary on October 25, 2024. This marks his first extension in the JS role.
