R K Gupta appointed as Dy Election Commissioner, ECI

R K Gupta (CSS) has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner (JS level), Election Commission of India (ECI), for a period up to 28.02.2023. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (07.07.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to appoint Gupta to the post for a period up to 28.02.2023 i.e. date of his retirement. He will replace T Sreekanth (IAS:2004:AGMUT).
