Senior IAS officer Vijoy Kumar Singh (IAS:1990:PB) was repatriated to his home cadre of Punjab on Tuesday, responding to a request from the state government. While an official order is pending, it is almost certain that his new assignment will be as the Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This role has been vacant since July 2023, following the retirement of A Venu Prasad, who served as Additional CS to the CM. Before assuming this potential role, Singh previously held the position of Union Secretary in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
