Punjab transfers four IAS officers; Varun Roojam gets additional charge of Sports & Youth Services

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) transferred four IAS officers and assigned them new responsibilities with immediate effect.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

1. Varun Roojam (IAS:2004), Administrative Secretary, Transport, has been given additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Sports & Youth Services.
2. Sakshi Sawhney (IAS:2014), Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, with additional charge of Mission Director, National Health Mission, Punjab, and Nodal Officer, Anti Drug Campaign, has been given additional charge of Director, Sports & Youth Services.
3. Sandeep Rishi (IAS:2015), Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar, has been additional charge of Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar.
4. Nikas Kumar (IAS:2020), Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, General Administration & Coordination.
