Punjab: 16 IAS officers shifted, Sandeep Kumar posted as DC, Tarn Taran

The Punjab government on Tuesday (22.08.2023) initiated a significant administrative overhaul by issuing transfer and posting orders for a total of 16 officers belonging to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). This decisive action was taken with the explicit purpose of bringing about a substantial transformation in the administrative framework of the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

1. Priyanka Bharti (IAS:2001:PB), Secretary, Technical Education & Industrial Training, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Public Works Department (Building and Roads).
2. Devinder Pal Singh Kharbanda (IAS:2007:PB), Director, Technical Eduaction & Industrial Training with additional charge of Director, Mines & Geology, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Technical Eduaction & Industrial Training with additional charge of the posts of Director, Technical Eduaction & Industrial Training and CEO, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion.
3. Amarpal Singh (IAS:2008:PB), Special Secretary, Revenue & Rehabilitation with additional charge of Director, Higher Education, Punjab.
4. Varinder Kumar Sharma (IAS:2009:PB), Special Secretary, Home Affairs & Justice with additional charge of Secretary, Punjab Human Rights Commission, and Nodal Officer, Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign (Department of Home), has been given additional charge of Director, Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
5. Devinder Singh (IAS:2010:PB), MD, The Punjab State Cooperative Bank Ltd., has been given additional charge of the posts of Member Secretary, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, and Member Secretary, Punjab State Backward Classes Commission.
6. Deepti Uppal (IAS:2011:PB), DG, Employment Generation & Training with additional charge of Mission Director, Punjab Skill Development Mission, has been transferred and posted as Joint Managing Director-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company.
7. Shena Aggarwal (IAS:2012:PB), Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Social Security, and Women & Child Development.
8. Sanyam Aggarwal (IAS:2012:PB), Joint Managing Director-cum-CEO, Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
9. Baldeep Kaur (IAS:2012:PB), Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Personnel with additional charge of the posts of Special Secretary, Vigilance and MD, PSIEC.
10. Sandeep Kumar (IAS:2015:PB), Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran.
11. Abhijeet Kaplish (IAS:2015:PB), Available for posting, has been posted as Director, Mines & Geology.
12. Sandeep Rishi (IAS:2015:PB), Available for posting, has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Department of Local Government for posting as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.
13. Amit Kumar Panchal (IAS:2016:PB), Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Fazilka, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Phagwara with additional charge of Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Phagwara.
14. Aditya Dachalwal (IAS:2016:PB), Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, NRI Affairs.
15. Parminder Pal Singh (IAS:2016:PB), Member Secretary, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission and Member Secretary, Punjab State Backward Classes Commission, has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Department of Industries and Commerce for posting as Managing Director, PUNCOM with additional charge of ED, BACKFINCO.
16. Manisha Rana (IAS:2019:PB), Available for posting, has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of Department of Local Government for posting as Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala.
