President of India Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday (June 3, 2025) addressed officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) inducted from State Civil Services who are currently attending the 127th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). The officers called on the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan as part of their training schedule.

In her address, the President highlighted the pivotal grassroots experience these officers bring from their roles in State Civil Services, where they worked closely with communities and implemented region-specific priorities. Now, as members of the all-India service, she noted, their roles will expand in both scope and complexity, requiring them to adhere to national standards of governance.

Emphasizing the national vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, President Murmu urged the officers to align their efforts with the goal of inclusive development, especially by ensuring that marginalized and weaker sections are not left behind in India’s growth journey. “When the poor and deprived experience growth and prosperity, we move closer to realizing the dream of a developed India,” she said.

The President also stressed the importance of technology and innovation in public administration. She encouraged the officers to leverage AI, e-governance tools, and digital feedback systems to build efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric governance. At the same time, she advised them to uphold the core values of the IAS—integrity, transparency, accountability, empathy, and fairness.
