President appoints new Governors in 9 states, a LG for Puducherry

The President of India Droupadi Murmu on late Saturday appointed eight new Governors for various states and one Lieutenant Governor for a Union Territory.

The President of India Droupadi Murmu on late Saturday appointed eight new Governors for various states and one Lieutenant Governor for a Union Territory.

The are;

  1. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, former Union Minister and eight times Member of Parliament, has been appointed as Governor of Jharkhand.
  2. CP Radhakrishnan, presently Jharkhand Governor with additional charge of Telangana, has been shifted as Governor of Maharashtra.
  3. OP Mathur, BJP national Vice President and former RSS pracharak, has been appointed as Governor of Sikkim.
  4. Lakshman Acharya, presently Governor of Sikkim, who will take over as Governor of Assam with additional charge of the Governor of Manipur.
  5. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Assam, has been moved to take over as Governor of Punjab with additional responsibility as Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
  6. Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, BJP leader and former Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, will take over as Governor of Rajasthan.
  7. Ramen Deka, former Lok Sabha MP from Assam, has been appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh.
  8. Jishnu Dev Varma, BJP’s former Deputy CM of Tripura, has been appointed as Governor of Telangana.
  9. CH Vijayashankar, former Karnataka Minister, has been appointed as Governor of Meghalaya.
  10. Former IAS officer K Kailashnathan has been appointed Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
